Art + Design Camps are back at Maker Playground!

Since opening the new Fishers Parks HQ and Maker Playground facility, Fishers Parks has been offering a variety of art & design camps, classes, and workshops for the Fishers community with focuses on fashion, recycled & upcycled art, anime and cosplay design, music, tech, and more!

Makers Gonna Make Camp

Dates: June 2-6
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. -OR- 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 10-15
Cost: $265 residents, $397.50 non-residents

This camp is for those who enjoy DIY, crafting, and new experiences. Campers will be able to make their own bath bomb, candle, designed tote bag, vase/holder, and indigo tapestry.

Reimagined Camp: Fashion, Decor, & more!

Dates: June 9-13
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 8-15
Cost: $250 residents, $375 non-residents

Reimagined camp is all about reusing, repurposing, and sustainability. Using provided items and items from home, campers will give new life to fashion, decor, or art! Create a new bag, plant holder, new skirt, frame, or mixed-media art. Sewing machines, glue guns, paint, cardboard, and some supplies will be provided.

World of Plushy Camp

Dates: June 17, 18, and 20
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 8-12
Cost: $150 residents, $225 non-residents

Get ready to learn how to make your very own plushy!  Campers will learn basic skills on first day and design their dream plushy. Campers will learn how to hand sew, hot glue, and design. Most materials provided. This is a 3-day camp week, and cost is pro-rated.

Make Your Own Jersey Camp

Dates: June 17, 18, and 20
Time: 2 to 5:30 p.m. each day
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 8-15
Cost: $160 residents, $240 non-residents

This camp lets you design your own your jersey! Each camper will come up with their design and will bring it to life. Campers may work with paint, vinyl, sewing, iron, and stencils. This is a 3-day camp week. Cost is pro-rated.

Fashion Runway Camp

Dates: June 23-27
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 10-16
Cost: $250 residents, $375 non-residents

Calling all fashionistas, fashion designers, and artists! Get ready for fashion challenges in this super fun and creative camp! There will be upcycle/repurpose challenges and projects with options to work individually or as a group. Campers will have hands-on experience with hand sewing, machine sewing, draping, and design techniques. At the end of the week, their final look will hit the runway!

Circuits + Synths Camp

Dates: June 23-27
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ
Ages: 8-12
Cost: $400 residents, $600 non-residents

Get ready for a week of music, technology, and creativity! Designed for ages 8–12, this immersive, full-day camp dives into the exciting worlds of circuits and synthesizers. Campers will explore the fundamentals of audio synthesis and build their own custom music-making device using a Raspberry Pi Pico. Using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), they’ll craft their own electronic music with MIDI while gaining hands-on STEM experience. Each day features a new synthesizer for campers to experiment with, giving them a chance to explore pro-level gear.

By the end of the week, campers will take home their personalized projects and a deeper understanding of the intersection of music and technology. This camp is a unique opportunity to develop real-world skills, ignite creative passions, and inspire a lifelong appreciation for sound and innovation.

Art Exploration Camp

Dates: June 30-July 3
Time: 9:30 a.m.to 1 p.m. -OR- 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 7-15
Cost: $200 residents, $300 non-residents

Campers will be learning about different artists and mediums. They will get to explore and get hands on to create their own work of art. Campers will get to used different mediums such as paint, sculpting, fabric, mixed media, and more. Campers will have a showcase on the last day. This is a 4-day camp week to observe the July 4th holiday. There will be no camp held on Friday, July 4. Cost is pro-rated.

Anime & Cosplay Camp

Dates: July 7-11
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Fishers Parks HQ Maker Labs
Ages: 9-15
Cost: $230 residents, $345 non-residents

Campers will get to draw and create their own anime character! Campers should come ready with an idea of their cosplay. With instructor Sewful Cheryl, we will get the hot glue and sewing needles ready as you learn how to make a basic costumes and props. With materials from home and camp, campers can cosplay their completed design on the last day and get a photograph as their awesome character.
