Fishers Parks, in partnership with Hub & Spoke, are developing the new 106 Plaza at 106th Street and the Nickel Plate Trail, Strengthened by IU Health.
The plaza extends onto the Hub & Spoke property, also home to the Fishers Parks headquarters and Fishers Maker Playground, and features a multi-use space for community gatherings and recreation with a courtyard with public seating and tables, a large communal fire pit, an open green lawn, swings, and improved trail accessibility.
The project enhances the trail experience by offering respite amenities and increased pedestrian access to public restrooms, Fishers Parks headquarters and the Maker Playground. The project will open to the public in late summer 2025.
The new plaza and courtyard will serve as an inviting space for the community to gather, whether you’re attending an event with Fishers Parks, taking a class at Maker Playground, grabbing a drink at Niyyah Coffee with a friend, or shopping home design elements from businesses inside the building, the new space is flexible and welcoming.
These improvements build on last year’s direct connection from the Cheeney Creek Natural Area to the Nickel Plate Trail at 106th Street, which added parking, lighting, and other safety features.
